Okay I'll start.... I am Polish on my mom's side. So we always have Polish food for Christmas.

So keeping up the tradition (my mom is gone), we have kielbasa, golumpkis, pierogis....then food from all the favorites my city is known for.....French meat pie from Leddy's Bakery a staple here, and Lebanese meat pies and spinach pies from Sam's bakery. And for dessert, Blueberry pie and my hubby's favorite, apple crisp.

Fall River is known for it's food joints (so to speak) Leddy's Bakery, for meat pies and real cream donuts, Sam's bakery, for it's meat pies and severl other Lebanese favorites, the "original" chow mein made here in the city, Dirty Nick's (nickname of course) for Coney Island Hot dogs, Marzilli's and Marcucci's Bakerys' known for their Italian grinders and pizza (sauce no cheese). And last for Portuguese Chourico. Made here by at least 3 different companies. Opps, almost forgot Hartley's pork pies, another favorite.

And lastly, the best ever baked stuffed lobster you will every have, Venus DeMilo which is one town over.

Okay, let's hear what you're having today, and what your area is known for....

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or what ever you want to call it.....may all my NOLUCK friends have a wonderful, healthy, and safe holiday!!!!!!

RGALP, Wow, that sounds wonderful! We had crab eggs benedict for breakfast and I cooked a french honey and orange duck for dinner. Balsamic crab stuffed mushrooms, green beans, and potatoes cooked with the duck. Yule log for desert. The yule log came from an amazing french bakery that is about 15 miles away. Razz

We don't have all the iconic eateries around here, but there is a really good seafood restaurant and we went there on Saturday night. I had stuffed shrimp, seared scallops and blackened grouper. Delicious!

I am so very jealous and hungry right now. We were cursed with another turkey that we will be eating 4 days from now. All 3 of my sons work at the same place and they love to give turkeys for holidays. I am planning lasagna for New Years. Salad for the green to bring money into the house, re fried beans and french bread. A homeade cake fordesert will complete the meal. No more feathered birds for me for a good long time Icon_pidu Almost forgot to add, non alcoholic wine to bring in the year. I wish i could have some white wine but my meds won't let me.

Cat50, Ha! I love turkey but it does seem to last too long, doesn't it? Remember in the Forest Gump movie when Bubba is talking about shrimp? That is like Turkey leftovers... turkey sandwiches, turkey soup, turkey pot pie, turkey tacos, turkey and beans, turkey casserole, turkey salad, ect Laughing

I don't know how I missed this, sorry! My Christmas meals turned out wonderfully! The Christmas duck was yummy and my aun't chicken and yellow rice was delicious.

I just stuffed myself with black-eyed peas and cornbread. The recipe was a new one for me, it was from the southern living magazine and called for green peppers and more onions than I've ever used, but it was delicious! I like to make cornbread with a corn meal skillet mix from Palmetto farms if anyone is looking for excellent corn bread. Palmetto Farms also had the best stone-ground grits I've ever had and they are available on Amazon.
