US Lawmakers Should Learn From Online Gambling Bust in China
Most people all around the world are quite adamant that, despite the fact that it may be illegal, they should be entitled to gamble online and they have every intention of continuing their entertaining activity whether legally allowed or not.

In China recently eleven people were arrested when a major online gambling bust took place. People were evidently betting online while having the advantage of seeing real time images of a casino in the Philippines. It is presumed that over seventy million dollars was dealt with in this scheme.

At present if the Chinese people wish to partake in casino gambling they are able to travel to Macau. However, the Chinese government has put a restriction on the number of times each year that Chinese residents can travel to Macau from the Chinese mainland. This resulted in an entrepreneur, who was surnamed Li, to take advantage of the loophole in the anti-gambling law.

After meeting with representatives from a Philippines online casino, Li succeeded in filtering players from China to gamble on the website. He was rewarded with a percentage of the casinos winnings. A pyramid type scheme was also set up by him whereby commission was paid to everyone who managed to bring in more players.

Due to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act which is presently in place, more people in the US are operating similar schemes with more and more people joining underground operations in order to gamble.

It is for this reason that Representative, Barney Frank, is endeavoring to propose legislation that would negate the UIGEA laws and hopefully regulate the online gaming industry.

Frank has for many years felt that US citizens should be protected from underground gambling operations.
