Notable MLB Matchups 8/11/18 - 8/12/18 by Chris Watford for NoLuckNeeded.com

A week in to August and we’re still inching closer and closer to the playoffs. This past week has given us some laughs and some good memories: the hilarious relationship between Adrian Beltre and Felix Hernandez, the Yankees losing, and Cesar Hernandez’s bizarre home run against the D-back. With the excitement and bizarrity of the past week over, let’s see if we can make some more memories this weekend.

Texas Rangers @ New York Yankees 8/11/18

The Yankees (70-42) are still a little bruised up after getting swept in their series against the Red Sox and they’re hoping they can beat up on a sub-par team in the Texas Rangers (51-65). This Saturday, the Rangers will find themselves in middle of a four-game series against the Yankees with David Hutchinson making his second start with the Rangers. Hutchinson didn’t have much to write home about in his first start against the Mariners - allowing six runs in three innings - Hutchinson is hoping he can improve his 5-4 record against the Yankees this Saturday at 1:05 PM ET on YES.

Oakland A’s @ Los Angeles Angels 8/11/18

While these division rivals may have a ten game difference between them, they’ve matched up very well throughout the 2018 season. Surprisingly, the Angels (58-58 ) have a 5-4 record against the Athletics (67-47) this year. Felix Pena is expected to pitch for the Angels this Saturday. In his last outing, Pena threw a no-hitter in to the 6th inning but he eventually gave up two runs and took the loss against Cleveland. Catch the third game of the series on FSW at 8:07 PM ET.

Washington Nationals @ Chicago Cubs 8/12/18

Who doesn’t love a little bit of drama? This past week has included accusations that Brandon Kintzler was leaking information about the Nationals’ clubhouse. The Nationals (58-55) are hoping that all of their problems are resolved with trading Kintzler, but there’s still an elephant in the room: the Nationals are going to be playing Kintzler and the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. Catch the drama this Sunday at 8:08 PM ET on ESPN.
