kaymast and shirlsplay, it sounds like you are doing great!!! A slip-up here and there doesn't have to end your attempt to quit. As long as you keep trying, you will get there. A bit of weight gain may be inevitable at first, because you will be trying to replace the cigarettes with food. Maybe try using carrot sticks or sugar-free candy, or gum. Whatever works for you is ok, because once you get past the worst of it, you won't need that stuff anymore, and you will gradually lose the weight.

Thanks, guys! My husband has gained about 10 lbs already, probably because he is constantly eating hard candy or licorice now Laughing I've been exercising more and I honestly don't mind if I gain a few lbs. This time around, I don't beat myself up over the slip-ups. The cravings are manageable, just certain situations trigger them. Anyway, congrats to all who have quit, and good luck to those trying to!!
