Online Gambling? You Can Bet On It | U.S. States need money

While the several states are looking for ways to make money, they are turning to online gambling. Europe is already on the dime as the folks can gamble from Macau to Great Britain without leaving their armchairs.
The United States has decided to get its part of the action online with gambling as well. Just as baseball season hits the door, and football season fades for the moment; sports betters and online gamers want to make money and get the crooks out of the business.

Different states are betting gambling legislation will pass. New Jersey is looking at new legislation as is California, George, Illinois, Kentucky and other states. Some of them are examining sports betting, others are just looking at slots and other gambling venues. Some are looking at the area of online gambling. But that’s not where the buck stops when it comes to the online gambling opportunities. That’s where the Feds step in.

There are some places where bipartisanship can happen, and that’s on the matter of online gambling. Both Representatives Barney Frank and Peter King, Democrat and Republican respectively, are putting through legislation through the Congress to get online gambling legal. Speculation is also that they will get it through, as the movement toward legalized online gambling is growing fast.

Great Britain, Macau, and other European countries already allow online gambling. They saw in advance the advantages of making online gambling legally. Now it is the United States’ turn at the wheel to see if the table winnings can be spent into state coffer cups.

Still despite the high hopes vice is doing as well as folks had hoped, according to the straight scoop from the industry itself. Straight stocks says gambling stocks are off, that they haven’t done as well as expected. Indeed they declare it has been a tough market for gambling stocks.

If the casinos in New Jersey are any example of what’s going on, legislators might want to take a second look before becoming too optimistic about possible gains from ganbling. New Jersey casinos aren’t doing well, according to the news from the state. Atlantic City, the gambling hub there, has been complaining from months about lack of money from gambling.

So as legislators look at the issues of gambling, there’s one thing for sure. The possible gains from gambling don’t seem assured given the news of what has been happening in the traditional gambling venues.
