Thank you for this contest.

I am thankful this year that my son is still alive and well. He is my youngest child and he is in the Air Force and is stationed in Iraq. I pray everyday that he stays safe as well as all of our men and women serving, and i wish our government would wake up and stop this war and stop the killing of our children. So, yes i am thankful, that my son is ok, and i pray it stays that way.

I don't know where to start. first I thank God ! this will be the first year in about 5 years that all my boys will be home for the holidays. I am ever so thankful my son made it home safe form Iraq.I have 2 sons serving in the military and are very seldom home and a grandson I do not see often as my son in stationed in japan.I have so much to be thankful for that I could write for days. but I know this will be a very memorable holiday and special time for my family.I pray for all those serving in the military and their families.
never lose hope and always give thanks.

My Mother, gave this too me when I was young, and it not only do I try to be grateful on Thanksgiving.....but all year long. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I do.

THANKSGIVING IS....

Thanksgiving is a
time of gratitude to God,
our Creator and Provider,
whose guidance and care
go before us...
and whose love
is with us forever.

Thanksgiving is a time
to reflect on the changes,
to remember that we, too,
grow and change
from one season of life to another.

Thanksgiving is a time
of changing seasons,
when leaves turn golden
in Autumn's wake
and apples are crisp
in the first chill breezes of fall.

Let us remember the true meaning
of Thanksgiving.
As we see the beauty
of Autumn, let us acknowledge
the many blessings
which are ours...
let us think of our families
and friends..
and let us give thanks in our hearts.

I am happy that I know how to make all these wondeful things to eat for thanksgiving .So here is a nother great one for you all to try .

Praline Pumpkin Dessert

1 can (15 oz) pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® golden vanilla cake mix
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans or walnuts
3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
Whipped cream, if desired
Additional pumpkin pie spice, if desired

1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease or spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan. In medium bowl, beat pumpkin, milk, eggs, sugar and 4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice with wire whisk until smooth. Pour into pan.
2. Sprinkle dry cake mix over pumpkin mixture. Sprinkle with pecans. Pour melted butter evenly over top.
3. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 30 minutes.
4. To serve, cut dessert into 4 rows by 3 rows. Serve warm or chilled with dollop of whipped cream sprinkled with pumpkin pie spice. Store covered in refrigerator.
