My family always gets together to put up the Christmas tree. We eat dinner together and then my sister always falls asleep, while the rest of us are stuck with the dishes...

I actually started my own holiday tradition for the yearly Christmas Dinner! You see I had a major issue one year. There was way too much food left over. In fact it looked as if it was just nibbled on and not hardly a dent in all the food I made. I made a Prime rib, Ham, and a small turkey breast with all the fixings. It was all done to perfection too. I am a butcherette and have much experience with these items. SO WHAT HAPPEN???
I finally figured it out.... about half of the guest were vegatarians and the other half are Diabetics. DUH!!!
So how did I remedy the issue the following year?????

HOLA MI AMIGOS.....
ANYONE IN THE MOOD FOR A MEXICAN FIESTA????

TAMALES, TACOS, ENCHILADAS, PINTO BEANS,
YOU NAME THE MEXICAN FOOD AND I HAD IT....
I MEAN REALLY .... WHO DOESN'T LIKE MEXICAN FOOD???
that year everyone gorged on dinner.... i darn near ran out....
with that success the whole house was done up mexican style... hot sauces and sombreros.... heck even chili pepper lights all over the tree!
cinco de mayo in December

ARREBA ARREBA OLE

Up until 12 years ago I had a huge family to celebrate with. Dozens of family members would come by my grandma's and everyone would have the best time laughing and eating and seeing family we havent seen in awhile. Even people who were married into the family and since divorced and remarried would come with their new families, lol it was just that awesome. After my grandma passed, the family went their own ways and it makes me sad my kids didn't get to experience it. So I've tried to make my own traditions, little things. We put together (well we try at least, lol) a gingerbread house each year, it always seems to crumble so we mark the gingerbreads eyes like 'x's and stick them under the rubble, lol. I turn on the Norad website and we keep track of where Santa's at. I don't have a fireplace, and so Santa is able to find his way in we mix up reindeer food (which consists of glitter, trail mix, and apple pieces) lol. (LOL- at Easter we leave out a big carrot and the bunny leaves a trail of chewed up carrot pieces from the baskets to the bedrooms and even on the bed as if he was watching them,lmao... and last year i rolled up tiny tootsie roll pieces for droppings and left them along the trail and on my older sons face while he was sleeping and took pics, lol) My sons 13 now and knows better , and my daughters already 8- Im going to enjoy doing things like that as long as I can, gives the holidays a special meaning.

Didnt mean to write a book.. damn holidays make me all sentimental, lol

We start our Christmas celebrations on Christmas Eve, first with our kids at our house, then we go next door to my inlaws where the WHOLE family is plus a few friends here and there, even former relatives, we open gifts one person at a time starting with the youngest, with about 40 people thats alot of fun to watch, of course there's always the gag gifts that got thrown in there. Then we play marbles! Along with a few drinks that finishes the evening off about 1 am then Christmas morning is for the grandkids. It's awesome! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! Merry Christmas!
